We are delighted to share with you a fantastic event helping young children experience the thrill of aviation! Last weekend the Moray Flying Club hosted the Douglas Bader Foundation at their home base in Kinloss Barracks with a few of their aircraft.
The weather for the day couldn’t have been better and during the course of the day we flew 35 sorties and managed to get 55 children/parents/carers airborne!
The pax were treated to short flights along the Moray Firth coast taking in Burghead, Hopeman, Lossiemouth and Elgin before recovering back into Kinloss. 663 Sqn Army Air Corps were present on the day and kindly gave a tour of one of their Apache helicopters; some very lucky children even got the chance to sit in the pilot’s seat!.
Moray Aviation Museum generously opened their doors to the Bader Braves and the Kinloss Fire Section allowed the visitors to sit in their fire engine.
Throw in some lunch and it was a day thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children and their family/carers alike; the feedback from all who attended was fantastic and all want to come back…mission accomplished!
