Formed on the 1st April 2001, the aim of the Royal Air Force Flying Clubs Association (RAFFCA) remains to promote air mindedness throughout the RAF by affording servicemen and women, regardless of rank or trade, the opportunity of learning to fly at the lowest cost.

The association is the advisory body responsible to the MOD for the code of conduct of all non-publicly financed Flying Clubs in the RAF.

  • G-RFCB

    The new aircraft, G-RFCB, joins her sister G-RFCA which was delivered last year and both aircraft will now form the primary aircraft fleet used to deliver JRPSS flying training at selected RAF Flying Clubs.

  • Glass Cockpit

  • RAF Charitable Trust

    The latest addition to RAFFCA was formally handed over to the President of the RAF Flying Clubs' Association (RAFFCA), AM Sir Chris Harper, by Air Marshal Sir Kevin Leeson, Chairman of the RAF Charitable Trust in a ceremony at the Royal International Air Tattoo.

    The Tecnam P2008 JC is a high wing, single engine airplane equipped with tricycle landing gear. It has up-to-date technology with composite fuselage for safe and easy flying with beauty, inside and outside.

The Skyway Code is downloadable in PDF format with touchscreen support and includes includes:

  • Pilot responsibilities
  • Pre flight checks and flight planning
  • Airspace rules and regulations
  • Using aerodromes 
  • Risks and Emergencies
  • Flying outside the UK
  • Links to useful safety and regulatory resources

As well as covering the regulations it includes examples of radio phraseology, tables to work out crosswind components and ground marshalling signals.
